Automatic Knife Grinder
Overview
The Automatic Knife Grinder is designed for fast, accurate sharpening of dowel mill roughing and finishing knives. Included with the Automatic Knife Grinder:
- Automatic knife grinding machine, 110 VAC. This machine has the ability to automatically reciprocate. Both hollow ground and flat surfaces can be ground.
- Two purpose built bars are included; 1 each for roughing and finishing knives. Bars are designed to allow up to 3 knives to be simultaneously sharpened in order to ensure optimum head balance.
- Wheel grit is selected for long life and above average surface finish.

Conveyor Outfeed System
Overview
RWS – Standard Outfeed Belt Conveyor
The standard outfeed conveyor is 20 feet long x 12″ wide with a sweeping type kick-off device.
RWS – Outfeed Sorting Conveyor
Our outfeed sorting conveyor is set up to kick off finished dowels to either the right side or left side of the conveyor as determined by an operator. This allows you to place the dowels into various bins.
The standard model has 2 kick off sections that can be built at different lengths to fit your specific operation. For example, if you want to run 12 foot dowels with 8 foot dowels, you could have an 8 foot section followed by a 12 foot section, allowing the 2 different sizes to be sorted into separate bunks.

Conveyor Infeed System
Overview
RWS – Standard Infeed Belt Conveyor
The 20′ x 12″ Infeed belt conveyor comes standard with our dowel mills.
RWS – Custom Auto Infeed System – Loading Deck and Stepfeeder
Logs are loaded on loading deck which lifts as necessary to load logs onto Stepfeeder. The Stepfeeder then moves the logs to the Even Ending Rollers.
RWS – Custom Auto Infeed System – Even Ending Rollers/ Hydraulic Size Adjustable Singulator
The Even Ending Rollers line up the ends of the logs so they are uniform. The Singulator then loads the logs one at a time onto the Infeed belt.
RWS – Infeed Roller Conveyor
The infeed roller conveyor is similar to the standard belt conveyor, but this conveyor has tapered rollers. It is driven off the squeeze pump hydraulic circuit on the dowel mill.
